Below is a list of common blue screen error messages you see on Windows based machines.

  • Bad RAM, Driver, or Video Card. Use Memtest86 to test RAM. Use BlueScreenView to determine which specific driver DLL is crashing. If it's nvidia or ati/amd DLL files, update your video card drivers or swap the video card.

  • BAD_POOL_HEADER 
  • Bad RAM, corrupted driver (CD-ROM, Scanner, Virtual CD ROM), or poorly coded software trying to access the internet. 
  • 0x00000050 
  • PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 
  • Bad RAM, Bad Video Card. Sometimes corrupted NTFS Volume. Use chkdsk /R and Memtest to diagnose.

  • INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE 
  • Almost always a failed hard drive with bad blocks.

  • SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 
  • Bad RAM, faulty driver, Video Card problem. Also caused by some third party hack utilities for illegal copies of Windows.
